Paroles
For the closure of the 2025 Biennale internationale de design graphique, writer Anne-James Chaton and Machines created a project for the inmates of Chaumont’s county jail.
With Anne-James, the inmates wrote and recorded short texts about their passions. With Machines, they used a custom tool to create posters and learn basic typesetting. Through rhythm, speech, and interactive typesetting, the inmates’ voices blend together to create a collective story.
Machines then developed an exhibition to showcase the work done with the inmates and to invite visitors to participate and record their own voices.
